Prostate Nutrition - Prevent Prostate Cancer

Posted by admin on Aug 21, 2008

How will prostate nurition affect your chances of getting prostate cancer ? Research shows that fat is enemy number ONE. And guess where prostate cancer rates are highest ? In America where people tend to consume large quantities of fatty foods.

Fruit and vegetables win hands down in preventing any kind of cancer , including prostate cancer. They just have to play a major role in any prostate nutriton plan in any prostate therapy.

The more brightly colored the vegetable is, the more likely it is to contain a larger number of phytonutrients. Tomatoes come top of the list here and they contain lycopene. This has been shown to be beneficial in prostate treatments. So including these in your diet is a sensible thing to do. That means having a tomato sauce with pasta or adding chopped up tomatoes to a salad or just having a salad of tomatoes and olives and anything else you fancy.

Don’t forget that lycopene is also conrtained in pink grapefruit so you can have that for breakfast. Both tomatoes and grapefruit contain lots of Vitamin C and folic acid which is ging to be beneficial to your overall health.

Best Homeopathic Treament For Enlarged Prostate

Posted by admin on Nov 5, 2008

There is one Best medicine I suggest in Homoeopathy. SABAL SERR-Q mother tincture in liquid form. Purchase from reliable seller. Take half a cup of water add 10 to 12 drops of this medicine and keep in mouth for 20 seconds and swallow. Do not drink or eat for 15 minutes before and after taking medicine, not even plain water. You will notice the reduction in size after 15 days. Wishing you speedy recovery. P.S: There are also other best medicines in Homoeopathy but that only qualified Doctor can decide, but this is the head remedy. I have excellent result with this. If bearing much pain and swelling then take Belladona-200 (five to six pills per dose) keep in the mouth, no chewing or swallowing with water, let it dissolve then swallow. No drink or food for fifteen minutes, thrice a day but at least keep an hour’s gap between these two medicines.

Enlarged Prostate Treatment

Posted by admin on Nov 1, 2008

My uncle is 60. He got his gall bladder removed in 1996. Last few years he is suffering from hernia and prostate glande problem. But refuses to operate. Since last year he is under homoeopathic treatment. But his present condition is not so good. He doesn’t have diabetic, but take medicines for high blood pressure. what should we do? What are the risks?
Homeopathy may cure prostate to some extent but not hernia!!!  He will have to have the operation. These two procedures are done under regional anesthesia which requires only a small injection at the back,no general anesthetia is required risk is 5-10% sinc it can be finished in a SINGLE sitting it will also cut down the expenses.   All the best

Any help would be appreciated. Waiting to see Doctor but would like to know before I start asking him questions. Could I take prostate health supplements, change the diet alittle etc.. Thanks
See your doc but he’ll probably refer you to a Urologist. Yes there are meds that will shrink the prostate but it takes an expert opinion. In thre meantime, you can avoid fatty foods, too much dairy , red meat and spicy foods. Concentrate on fruit and vegetables, fish, nuts - you can even have a little red wine. This blog will give you some useful tips.

Prostate Therapy- Importance Of Screening

Posted by admin on Oct 23, 2008

Why is it that MOST MEN refuse to see a doctor unless they truly 100% believe something is absolutely wrong? My main concerns are prostate cancer and Testicular cancer. Men should be getting checked regularly JUST LIKE WOMEN. This is why women live longer, because we see it as an obligation to go to the doctor once a yr and get an annual… But men dont do that. They end up getting sick and knowing nothing about it till its too late! I seriously urge men to go to the doctor… For your families and friends if not for yourself! Im working towards a radiation therapy degree and prostate cancer and testicular cancer death rates are extremely high because men refuse to see doctors till its too late. Men: What is your main reason for not going? And women… What are some ways you’ve successfully gotten your guy to get checked yearly?
I agree with you 100%! My husband, my brother, my father and my male friends are all the same. And the worse part is, they complain. “My head hurts, my arm hurts, I can pee, my back”!! If I offer to take them to the doctor, there response: “No, I will wait and see how long this last”. This is all the time and from every man I know. And this is what I believe why, (I am not saying I am right, but here goes.), they are chicken s*&t. They are afraid of the pain or embarassment during the exam. They simply can’t handle the whole thing. Women can take pain better then men, so we go….we say, to he&# with it and we go. We would rather have the few minutes of discomfort, pain and/or embarrassment to stay healthy and yes, thats why we live longer. But wow, I was so happy to read this question because it is so TRUE.

What Is The Best Treatment For Enlarged Prostate - And Diet?

Posted by admin on Oct 21, 2008

Is surgery a good choice? Is Medical treatment a possible choice? What are the possible draw backs? men or people with experience please.
Hey, The best option is if you can avoid surgery. The risks are much greater than drug treatments. You run a very real and high risk of impotence with surgery not to mention it is rather invasive.Look up TURP in google pictures if you don’t believe me. Drugs in mild to severe cases work a treat such as alpha blockers (tamulsoin) and depending on size finasteride. Otherwise try herbal treatments like saw palmetto.Watch your diet- you should be avoiding FATS, too much dairy. You should be taking lots of tomatoes, pink grapefruit, nuts, pumpkin seeds and of course leafy green vegetables- like spinach and broccoli.   In addition treatment is only sought when quality of life is threatened. If symptoms aren’t bothersome there is no need for any intervention.

Prostate Nutrition - What Are The Best Foods?

Posted by admin on Oct 15, 2008

Anyone know what are the best prostate foods for healthy prostate function?
Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) - acts as a natural anti-inflammatory. Lycopene - In a study of over 40,000 health professionals, Harvard investigators found that men who ate more than 10 servings tomato-based foods daily (like cooked tomatoes and tomato sauce,) had a 35 percent lower risk of developing prostate cancer than those who ate the least amount of these foods. The benefits of lycopene was more pronounced with advanced stages of prostate cancer. Try eating processed tomatoes, they work best (ketchup, tomato sauces). Avoid alcohol and excess diary consumption. Add selenium to your diet. Men with high blood levels of selenium were about half as likely to develop advanced prostate cancer as the men with lower blood selenium. Take saw palmetto berry extract. Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) helps inhibit conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a substance that adversely affects prostate health. I recommend 160 mg of extract twice daily. Include more soy in your diet. Some researchers now believe that the increasing estrogen-to-testosterone ratio is one of the factors that adversely affects the size of the prostate gland. Because soy has been found to restore the proper estrogen-to-testosterone ratio that becomes skewed as men get into their 60s and beyond, I recommend you include 2 ounces of soy in your diet per day. Good sources of soy include: tofu (soybean curd) fermented soy products like miso and tempeh roasted soy nuts soy flour or powder Include at least 15 mg of zinc once a day. Pumpkin seeds (in the shell) are excellent sources of zinc and the essential fatty acids necessary for healthy prostate function.

Mediterranean Diet Wins Again For Best Prostate Nutrition

Posted by admin on Oct 14, 2008

Imagine surveying the eating habits of 1.5 million people and then coming to the conclusion that what they eat can prolong their life by reducing the chances of getting serious disease like prostate cancer, Alzheimer’s disease. That is just what the group described below did. The Mediterranean Diet which is as sound a basis as you can get for healthy prostate nutrition won hands down yet again !  What you eat will affect your whole body and not least reduce the free radicals which are nasty attackers.

According to the researches, held by a group of scientists from the University of Florence under the guidance of Francesco Sofi, the Mediterranean diet helps to reduce death-rate from cancer by 6% and by 9% from heart diseases. The likelihood to develop Alzheimer’s and Parkinson is reduced by as much as 13%.

Italians eat a lot of fish, pasta, vegetables and fruits, while olive oil is present in many of their dishes.

These key elements of Italian cuisine help the body to withstand not only many aging-associated diseases, but also typical diseases of the “Western way of life.”

Sofi’s group carefully analyzed the results of twelve studies on nutrition and healthy lifestyle, which involved 1.5 million people. The scientists from Florence University gave them points depending on how strictly the given subjects had adhered to the diet. The results revealed that among those who were adhering to the diet, the total mortality from any disease was by 9% lower than among other participants in the research.

So, all of you fans of traditional Italian cuisine have a real opportunity to join the nine per cent of lucky ones who are destined (according to the findings of Francesco Sofi’s group) to live a longer and happier life.
